Printing fun
I've been getting messages that I cannot post outside links... let's hope that this one goes through.
It's a Veroni skull and a ghost for Halloween.
oh, good... it lets me post from my photobucket.

Re: Printing fun
very nice. So long as you size them to 640 you can use the host and insert buttons that are part of the message post.
Re: Printing fun
I was just watching a print.. and it dawned on me why the flat area is so hard to get supports off of.
you can see how close and thick these supports are. this will make it difficult to remove the supports from the flat areas of the model.

Re: Printing fun
been having some fun with containers... these might make a good desk set.
The multi-colored ones in the front, I used up the last of the yellow from GP3D, and rather than re-print, I threaded the green into the printer as the last of the yellow was being filled in, but the green ran out, so I did some gray, and that looked a bit drab, so I cut it off and filled in some other green in.

Re: Printing fun
any gaps form that you noticed when you spliced em in? I wonder if any companies make filament that changes color every foot or so? I would buy it.
Re: Printing fun
no gaps at all... they do sell "rainbow" filament. do a search on Amazon for
pla 1.75 multi
and you will see some of them.
Personally, I'm waiting for my Palette from Kickstarter to come in... they are still developing it, but being able to automatically splice up to 5 different filaments together is a good thing.

Re: Printing fun
I saw that machine. I if I remember right the price was a bit high for my finances. And at the time, I had no printer.
Re: Printing fun
Ya. I didn't have one, but I had kickstarted one, so since I had the "extra" money (pb&j for two months), I got in on it.

Re: Printing fun
eh.. I got a batch before, and the gradations are so far apart that it really doesn't make a difference unless you either make many copies of the same thing, or make a VERY large something.
I'm sure that the Palette will work better for colors. I've even thought of printing one object while the Palette joins colors for a different one... just to see what kind of print I would get.

Re: Printing fun
Just a random thought brought this on. All that space above the monitor and nothing can be put on it. So I designed an adjustable shelf. The slider lets you clamp it onto the PC and it will even support a full glass of water, so I know it's strong.
