I decided to make a custom GoPro mount for the Root.  If anyone is interested, here is the .STL:

I'm using an SJCAM M10, but it's a standard GoPro mount interface.  The GoPro connector itself is from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:22477.

UPDATE: Here is an improved holder that raises the camera higher up for an improved view of the platform. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8214682/Root_GoPro_Mount_V2.stl
