root plus users

Post by jgazpacho on Mon Oct 26, 2015 5:38 pm

To all of the root plus users!

I've gotten as far as capturing the .gcode output from germinate 1.1 and all of the command line parameters that it uses for skein forge, but i am unable to replicate what germinate 1.1 does to convert the .gcode into the .wtk files that the root plus uses.

a few people wrote about getting germinate 1.1 to compile.gcode generated from another program to .wtk, but i have no idea how to do that. Probably the best way is to figure out where the temp ".gcode" file is stored.

i wonder if the .gcode to .wtk is just basically an .x3g renamed. no idea.

thoughts?

I theorize that .X3G and .WTK are identical, except for the fact that the latter has heat bed codes that are non-zero. Given that Mightyboard interprets from X3G natively, it is highly likely that the file format changes are nothing more than the substitution of the letters WTK for X3G in the firmware.

As for where you can find the GCODE, it dumps it into the same directory as the original STL file. That way, the GCODE doesn't need to be regenerated when the STL file is reloaded.
