What can be used to smooth out PLA

Post by Asphalt on Tue Oct 20, 2015 1:03 pm

So Acetone vapor can be used to easily (sorta) smooth the surface on ABS prints. Are there any products/techniques you have used to smooth PLA? either as a paint on or vaporizing type process?

I found this by Smooth-On. I have used their molding rubbers and casting resins rather extensively, but until now have had no use for this product.

I have purchased a couple of packages of XTC-3D. It has a few nice attributes -- my favorite being that it is non-hazardous. It does a fantastic job in making Taulman T-Glase more transparent, as shown here: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
