3D software

Post by Asphalt on Sun Oct 18, 2015 10:39 am

So what software to you guys use to build models? Google Sketchup is about as far as I have gotten. But it takes so much to get an .STL file out of it I would love to find some other options.

I use Blender. A small learning curve, but lots of help videos out there.

For beginners, I heartily recommend Tinkercad. Kids and adults alike can learn the essentials in less than an hour.

Personally, I get a lot of use out of Meshmixer.

For cutting models and removing/fixing surfaces or triangles, I use Netfabb.

I'm a programming type, so I really like OpenSCAD.
